Tenleytown to Woodley Park/Zoo Metro by way of Glover Archbold Park etc

Details
Meet at Tenleytown Metro station for a one way hike via Glover Archbold and Whitehaven trails and then via trails and streets near Rock Creek to the Woodley Park/Zoo Metro station. Trail can be muddy if there has been recent rain. The pace will be about 2 miles per hour. Total distance 5 to 6 miles. Optional lunch after hike near Woodley Park metro and then we will go our separate ways. (Those wishing to return to our starting point may do so by Metro Red Line).
Meet at 10 a.m. outside the Tenleytown Metro station, on the west side of Wisconsin Avenue next to Target. A restroom is available in Target (code 1234#). A restroom stop is also about 4 miles in when we get to Wisconsin Ave at Trader Joes. Wear proper footwear and bring water. Well behaved dogs are permitted on this hike. We will depart about 10:15 am. Hikers are responsible for their own safety.
Historical note: In 1947, a 4 lane divided highway was proposed to be down the middle of what is now Glover Archbold Park. Were it not for Anne Archbold and Carroll Glover, there may not be the park as it is today! Maybe Ms. Archbold or Mr. Glover hiked with the CHC in its early years.
