About us
Welcome to CenTexSUP! We are a group of Stand Up Paddle board enthusiasts in and around Central Texas and are based in Austin, TX.
If you're looking for a group to get out and paddle with, resources, advice or anything else SUP related then you've found the place. We are constantly out on the water enjoying all the lakes and rivers of Central Texas and occasionally the waves down at the coast. We try to get together as an organized group at least a couple of times a month. We have paddles year round so check back often.

11th Annual July 4th Picnic and FIREWORKS from the water!
Estacionamiento Edward Rendon Park, 1601-1999 Nash Hernandez Senior Rd, Austin, TX, USWe will meet at the picnic tables near the parking lot on Chicon at Estacionamiento Edward Rendon Park (see map). Try to park as close as you can, but you may need to park under the I-35 Bridge, Holiday Inn Boat Ramp, or Festival Beach - or anywhere you can find! It's usually pretty crowded near the water. You may need to drop your boards near the picnic tables and find parking as close as you can.
Meet at the picnic tables at 7pm. Come decked out in red, white, and blue and bring a dish to share! We'll have a picnic dinner and then hit the water at 8:15. We will head down to the First Street/Drake Bridge for an amazing 4th of July event - complete with a fireworks display over the city skyline backed by symphonic patriotic classics. The orchestra will perform at 8:45 p.m., followed by “mile-high” fireworks at approximately 9:30 p.m. Grab your SUP, paddle, LIGHTS, and PFD - and join us on the water to declare your Independence!
If you are not able to join us for the picnic, find us on the water at 8:45 under the First Street/Drake Bridge. The group will launch at the shoreline near the picnic area (or wherever you can find) and paddle down to the First Street/Drake Bridge to watch the fireworks over the water (For safety reasons, Lady Bird Lake between the railroad trestle bridge and the S. 1st St. Bridge will be closed from 8 p.m. to midnight.)
Be sure to bring a headlamp or some form of WHITE LIGHT so you can find your way back to the boat launch and bring a filled water bottle and snacks if you desire. Prepare for heavy traffic in the area - everyone will be trying to get near the lake for a good view. This will not be a structured meetup - if you don't find us at the picnic tables, find us under the bridge.
BYOB BRING YOUR OWN BOARD (or other "b" things you might want to bring - beverages, bites, bug spray, bass clarinet, whatevs).
If you need to rent a board
Check with the EPIC SUP dock (east side of the lake) - plan ahead and call to reserve a board or kayak EARLY! Everyone will be renting that day.More info here:
