Our Mission
Serving Those Who Served — Birmingham Veterans Community Network is a Veterans-centered community dedicated to bringing together Veterans, military families, caregivers, and community partners throughout Birmingham, Jefferson County, and Central Alabama.
Our mission is simple: To continue serving those who served by connecting Veterans with people, resources, knowledge, opportunities, and one another.
We believe military service creates a lifelong bond, and no Veteran should have to navigate life's challenges without access to information, encouragement, and meaningful community connections.
What We're About
Our network provides a welcoming environment where Veterans can build friendships, exchange experiences, access educational resources, develop professional relationships, and participate in community activities.
Through monthly meetups, guest speakers, educational presentations, and community outreach, we focus on:
- Veterans Benefits & Resources: VA benefits, disability claims education, healthcare services, and community assistance.
- Health & Wellness: Physical and mental wellness, preventive healthcare, and caregiver support.
- Employment & Entrepreneurship: Career opportunities, business development, professional networking, and financial education.
- Housing & Financial Stability: Housing resources, homeownership education, financial literacy, and available assistance programs.
- Family & Community Support: Resources for military spouses, surviving spouses, caregivers, and families.
- Fellowship & Networking: Building lasting friendships, sharing experiences, and strengthening the Veterans community.
- Community Service: Volunteer opportunities and outreach initiatives that allow Veterans to continue making a difference.
Who Is Welcome?
Our community welcomes Veterans of every military branch and service era, active-duty personnel, National Guard and Reserve members, military families, caregivers, surviving spouses, and individuals or organizations committed to supporting Veterans.
Monthly Veterans Meetups
Beginning in December 2026, we plan to host monthly/quaterly gatherings throughout the Birmingham metropolitan area, featuring fellowship, networking, guest speakers, educational discussions, and resource-sharing opportunities.
Our meetings are informative, welcoming, respectful, and free to attend.
Our Commitment
We are more than a networking group. We are building a community of Veterans helping Veterans, families supporting families, and organizations working together to make valuable resources more accessible.
Whether you served decades ago or recently transitioned from military service, you have a place in our community.
ONE COMMUNITY. MULTIPLE RESOURCES. A STRONGER TOMORROW.
Our service continues beyond the uniform.
