Mission Check-in: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AMStarting Location:
Build-A-Robot Workshop
(900 24th St. Suite108 Bakersfield, CA 93301)Mission Overview:
Our peaceful island nation of Luapa has fallen under pirate control. In a last-ditch effort before they destroyed our communications and infrastructure, we deployed our advanced robot, Paul, to hide with our final radio transceiver. Paul has successfully transmitted our distress signal, but now we face a new crisis. If the pirates locate Paul and the still-active transceiver, they'll not only destroy our last piece of advanced technology but will also permanently disable Paul—our island's greatest technical achievement. Time is running out—we've received intelligence that the pirates are closing in on Paul's location. We must find him first and safely deactivate the transceiver before the pirates can trace its signal to him.
Meet P.A.U.L. - the Personal Autonomous Utility Laborer
Our island nation of Luapa created P.A.U.L. to help our community thrive. More than just a robot, he was designed to adapt to any challenge our island faced. From maintaining infrastructure to supporting education and emergency response, P.A.U.L. became essential to island life.
His name reflects his core purpose - personal in his interactions, autonomous in his capabilities, and utilitarian in his service to our community. Though created as a sophisticated helper, he grew to be much more. To us, he's simply Paul, our island's greatest technological achievement.
When pirates threatened Luapa, we knew Paul was our best hope. We trusted him with our last working radio transceiver, confident that his problem-solving abilities would keep this crucial technology safe until help arrives. How The Mission Works:
1. Assemble Your Resistance Team:
Form a resistance cell of 1-10 operatives. Your team only needs one mission clearance (ticket) for the entire group. Bring together trusted allies who can contribute different skills to overcome the challenges ahead!2. Prepare Your Transport:
You'll be navigating to twelve strategic locations across four distinct island zones. While some locations are within walking distance, others will require vehicular transport. Ensure your vehicle has sufficient fuel for the mission.3. Mission Briefing:
Report to the Build-A-Robot Command Center between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM to receive your:
-Map of the Luapa islands
-Set of 10 encrypted location clue cards
-Special pin deciphering device essential for decoding Paul's messages4. Operation Commencement:
At 10:00 AM sharp, teams will begin their search across the islands (contained within a 10-mile radius of Build-A-Robot). Each zone presents unique challenges that will test your team's problem-solving abilities, coordination, and resourcefulness. Use your deciphering device to unlock encrypted messages and reveal new locations.5. Locating Paul:
Your ultimate objective is to complete all zone challenges and piece together the intelligence needed to pinpoint Paul's location. The first three teams to successfully locate Paul and the radio transponder will enter the Liberation Circle.6. Liberation Circle: At the mission's conclusion (4:30 PM), all teams that have successfully located Paul will be added to the leaderboard and their game points will be displayed. Points are awarded for successfully completing zone challenges, decoding encrypted messages, and demonstrating superior problem-solving abilities, coordination, and resourcefulness in the quest to save our island nation. The team with the most points at the end of the mission (4:30 PM) will be declared the victorious liberators of the Luapa Islands and notified that they are the winning team. They will then be able to come back and claim their reward.
Reward: The victorious team will have the honor of choosing and taking home one of our impressive Tiki Mugs as a trophy to commemorate their success in locating Paul and helping restore communication with the outside world. This special keepsake will serve as a lasting reminder of their heroic contribution to the liberation of the Luapa Islands!
