Leveraging avro and protobuf for efficient data streaming

Details

When Adobe ColdFusion 2023 launched, it quietly included built-in support for serialization/deserialization using Apache Avro and Protocol Buffer. For the most part, this addition went unnoticed by the community, as these serialization schemes were largely niche and used by folks using tools like Hadoop. But the value in the two serialization schemes is huge for applications which require highly efficient compression of data, and provide valuable schema capability that can vastly improve the stability and quality of your development. In this talk, Mark will discuss why you may wish to move your ColdFusion applications to sending data using one of these two toolings, as well as what the difference between them is. Finally, we'll look at some simple sample code to get you started.

This will be a hybrid event, live-streamed globally, and will be posted to YouTube afterwards.
