What we’re about
Greetings, Theater and Performing Arts, and Classical Music Lovers in Central & Eastern Connecticut!
Do you find it difficult to convince friends to attend theatrical and classical music concerts? This, then, is the group for you!
We will organize outings to concerts by such groups as Hartford Symphony Orchestra; Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra; Willimantic Orchestra; Springfield Symphony Orchestra; and musical performances at UCONN'S Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts, and Von der Mehden Recital Hall.
We will also organize attendance at productions by Hartford Stage, Connecticut Repertory Theatre; The Hole in the Wall Theater; The Little Theater of Manchester; The Windham Theatre Guild; Capital Classics Theatre Company; Chestnut Street Playhouse; Goodspeed Musicals; and others!
Attendance at chamber music/symphonic works/theatrical works could be preceded by, or followed by, get-togethers and local restaurants to discuss the performances.
In all cases, members of this group attending performances will have the opportunity to briefly meet just prior to the performance to introduce themselves to other group members, in order to create camaraderie and fellow-feeling in love of the performing arts -- and so that Meetups are not individual people showing up alone, experiencing the event alone, and leaving alone, without meeting fellow lovers of the musical and theatrical performing arts.
Group members are strongly encouraged to suggest musical and theatrical performances as opportunities for Meetups. That is, events are not all "top-down" outings, but are also outings recommended by group members.
So: don't rely upon the group owner to identify and suggest outings to performances! Research classical music and/or theatrical performances and recommend them to group members!
