Perkins Arboretum & Bird Sanctuary/Colby College - Waterville
Details
This pleasant 128-acre preserve was established in 1946 and later dedicated in memory of Professor and Mrs. Edward Henry Perkins.
We'll walk the outskirts of the Arboretum trails starting from the small wooden kiosk at the edge of the South Lot parking lot (behind the new performing arts center).
The green trail's wide pathways on dirt and mowed grass will take us near and around ball fields; half the walk will follow the trails and the other half along the campus and/or ball fields.
Depending on the routes we take, there will be a few slight inclines and steep hilly sections. See the attached photos for more details.
Lunch is possible afterward.
