Colby College Campus "Iconic Spots" Walk - Waterville
Details
During this walk, we'll see some of the most well-known buildings on campus.
Starting from the Gordon Center for Creative and Performing Arts (opposite residence hall construction), we'll view the Miller Library, where graduations take place, the Museum of Art, and sports fields.
We'll later cross the street near Johnson Pond before we eye dorm buildings on the way to Lorimer Chapel, Cotter Union, and the Foss and Dana Dining Halls.
Some paths are concrete, others are brick-lined or paved, with slight inclines. If we're up to it, we can lengthen the walk and visit other buildings like Cotter Union or stop for lunch on (the Joseph Family Spa, Dana) or off campus.
Length: Two to three miles, depending on our pace and route (45 minutes to an hour).
Where we'll meet: Near the front entrance to the glass Gordon Center for Creative and Performing Arts building, between the metal sculpture on the right and the large stone sign on the left. If you use GPS, please set it for "The Gordon Center for Creative and Performing Arts." It's on Alumni Drive. (Sorry, I can't provide an exact address.)
Parking is available in the South/Lunder/Alumni lots to the right of the front of the building, opposite the Foss/Woodman dorm building. Look for the dark brown, blue, and white parking lot sign. If you're coming in from Mayflower Hill, it will be on the outskirts of campus.
