Rotary Centennial Trail (Winslow-Benton)
Details
This flat, mostly dirt, but partly gravel-lined rail trail features beautiful views of the Kennebec River and a variety of trees and fauna along its shore. Signs show the different types of trees, and there are mile markers and benches along the way.
If we make it to the end (before we loop back), we might pass through some grass. The rest of the path is clear of it.
If we feel up to it, we can visit the Benton Alewife Festival afterward at Riverside Park.
Note: Not to be confused with the Peter Garrett Trail (former East Kennebec Trail) across from it.
Please see the photo gallery for a preview.
Pet Policy: If you're interested in bringing a pet, please see the comments before RSVPing.
Where We'll Meet: Near the round Rotary club stone (pictured) near the trailhead, beyond the dirt parking lot down the hill at 65 Kennebec Trail Road in Winslow (off Benton Ave.).
Length: An hour and a half (4-5 miles round trip).
