Monthly Field Shoot - Elements of Design Field Shoots - Lines

If you have been wanting to reinforce your working knowledge of composition, this field shoot series is a good way to do just that. The Elements of Design Field Shoots are structured so that each shoot focuses (pun intended!) on a specific element of design and encourages the participant to look for and work that element into their images.
As the series progresses, the field shoots will revolve around exploring each of the following elements of design:

• Lines
• Shapes
• Color
• Value
• Texture
• Space
• Form
• Focal Point
• Balance
• Unity/Harmony
• Contrast
• Symmetry
• Repetition

The shoots are strategically scheduled to take advantage of both the time of day for ideal light and for location selection that provides opportunities to isolate the element we are looking for.
The shoot will start off with a short in-field discussion on the element we are looking for and some thoughts to get you started on your visual quest. These field shoots are designed to stretch your skills of observation and reinforce how each selected element can help in overall composition.
The shoots are limited to a total of 10 photographers to ensure that each participant gets the most value out of the shoot.
