COUNT Discussion Meeting: Topic - "Old White Men"
Details
COUNT focuses on volunteering and outreach. The projects that we take on are those that help the world around us and positively affect the lives and reputations of atheists and other non believers.
Every week we will meet to review those upcoming projects and then spend some time discussing a weekly topic that will help develop and support the local atheist/non-theist community, discuss secular viewpoints, encourage a positive atheist/non-theist culture, and provide opportunities for socializing and friendship.
This week, we will be discussing the idea that atheists tend to be white men and misogynistic. Is that true? Why is that the perception? How to we change it? How do we get more women and minorities involved in our community?
If we have time, we’ll open up the floor to other topics. Afterwards, we are would love to spend time hanging out, having a few drinks, and getting to know one another.
Atheist, agnostics, other non-theists, and atheist-friendly people are welcome to join us.
