Columbus CoR 6th Annual Day of Reason Event

Details
The National Day of Reason event is the Atheist response to the National Day of Prayer, which is Saturday May 4th. Please join us again to meet and mingle with Atheists from all the area as represented by the Columbus Coalition of Reason groups: Omnipresent Atheists (OA), Central Ohio United Non-Theists (COUNT), Humanist Community of Central Ohio, UU Atheists/Skeptics/Humanists, Recovery From Religion, Secular Student Alliance at OSU, and Atheist Membership for Equitable Nominations (AMEN).
The event starts at 3 PM at The Oracle Bar in Old Town East. Pizza will be provided. Donations accepted. Feel free to bring a dessert, a side dish or fruit if you wish. The event is open to the public, and "membership" in these specific organizations is not necessary, so invite your friends.
Headlining the event will be Frank Zindler, the grandfather of Columbus area atheists. Frank will be speaking for 10 minutes as a prelude to a longer presentation in celebration of his birthday on Sat May 25th. Frank will be available to discuss his long and impressive atheist career with anyone interested.
A former professor of biology and geology (SUNY system) for twenty years, Frank was a close associate of Madalyn Murray O'Hair. A member of the governing board of American Atheists since the early 80s, he served as interim president of the organization in 2008. After the murder of O'Hair and her family in 1995, he has served as editor of American Atheist Press.
Frank is a veteran of over 400 commercial radio and TV talk shows and debates and is widely recognized as one of the most effective debaters defending state-church separation, evolution education, abortion, and equality. Forced to end a twenty-year career in education when he joined Madalyn Murray O'Hair in a lawsuit to remove religious mottoes from US currency, he has worked for 36 years as a linguist and analyst of chemical research documents for a learned society in Ohio.
Donations may be made in person at the event.
