⚛️ The link between Trump, Jesus & John Wayne

The rise of Christian Nationalism, Trump and modern reactionary politics. We will be talking about the cultural impact of white evangelicalism in American culture and politics. And why white evangelicals were so drawn to Trump despite being the kind of person whose values they railed against.

This month we will have a meeting about the ideas in the book Jesus and John Wayne by Kristin Kobes Du Mez. Here is a link to a podcast and page with text highlights of an interview with the author on NPR if you want a little taste. Reminder, you can get the audiobook through the Barrie Public Library using CloudLibrary.

Before the discussion, we meet for dinner (see separate event to RSVP).

First 3 meetings are free. All Humanists, atheist, agnostics and any friendly people are welcome out.

We will meet at the offices of Murdoch Travel, at 28 Currie St

• When you enter the parking lot, you'll see a loading bay. Drive to the ➡️ right side of the building.
• After turning the corner, you'll see the Murdoch Travel sign at the far door.

Every month we have interesting meetings discussing science, logic or compassion. Check out our website at http://www.cohumanists.ca/ to see our topic list and upcoming meetings.
