Psilocybin Therapy: Info session and Q&A + Free raffle prizes!

Details

Join us for an info session and Q&A about the research that has shown remarkable success rates of psilocybin therapy in addressing depression, anxiety, end-of-life anxiety, addiction, and other mental health challenges.

The evening starts with introductions from our panel of speakers, who include mental health care professionals, land use specialists, psilocybin therapy clients, and a future psilocybin producer.

We then open up the floor for questions about what psilocybin therapy in unincorporated Deschutes county will look like.

Will naked people run around screaming and jumping off rooftops? Will psilocybin therapy birth another Charles Manson? Will it trigger a psilocybin cartel? These are the concerns residents and officials have expressed.

Oregon voters passed a measure allowing psilocybin therapy to address depression, anxiety, end-of-life anxiety, addiction, and other mental health challenges. Significant success rates in the published research support psilocybin as a safe and effective mental health tool.

Local voters will decide in November whether unincorporated Deschutes County will opt out of the measure. If so, this will concentrate services in Bend where operating costs are high and access more difficult for many residents.

CHANCE TO WIN A FREE GIFT! Each attendee will receive one free raffle ticket for prizes generously donated by local businesses.

Background:

In 2020, Deschutes County residents voted to approve Measure 109, which legalized psilocybin services in Oregon, with 52.8% of the vote. In July of 2022, Deschutes County Commissioners voted two to one to place Measure 9-152 on the November ballot, which proposes unincorporated county areas opt out of the measure. A Vote of NO on Measure 9-152 will protect access to this important mental health therapy and make it more accessible to our communities.
