Come join us for our first Virtual Practical ML meetup!! We will be trialing some new tools to keep the session as interactive and hands-on as possible!!
If you have a ML side project or challenge you have been working on then sign up to give a 2-3 minute lightning talk at the end of the session here - https://forms.gle/gHQv8xfWHpJNxhaT7
Python beginners Welcome! Most of the code is provided and we will be walking through the exercises during the class so even if you only know a tiny amount of python you can still get involved and learn something!
Ideal for those getting into machine learning and looking to learn about Precision/Recall and how to practically go about understanding it and tuning a model to be either high precision or high recall.
We will be learning about Precision/Recall whilst building a vision model to detect Pneumonia in images of X-rays using Python with Keras (https://keras.io). All Keras code will be provided so you don't need to know Keras to participate.
During the practical section we will be working in Colab (https://colab.research.google.com) so you won't need to install anything 👍
Meetup structure:
1600 - Intro to precision/recall
1610 - Hands on coding
1650 - Lightning talks
Learning outcomes:
We aim to get everyone to a good understanding of what Precision/Recall is and how to practically go about using it to help define ML tasks and how to actually tune a model to have a higher precision or recall.
Requirements:
- Google Colab (no installation required!)
- Slack
- Curious mind to learn something new
We'll provide the links to join closer to the date!
Hope to see you there!
