Join us for Sierra Club's book club, where we will be discussing Is A River Alive? by Robert Macfarlane. Our first non-fiction read of the club, this book explores the idea "that rivers are living beings who should be recognized as such in imagination and law." From the book description: "Macfarlane takes readers on three unforgettable journeys teeming with extraordinary people and places: to the miraculous cloud-forests and mountain streams of Ecuador, to the wounded creeks and lagoons of India, and to the spectacular wild rivers of Canada—imperiled by mining, pollution, and dams."

The book may be available at local libraries, as well as other platforms of your choosing. If you prefer to purchase a copy, we encourage local bookstores!

Please note the location change: we will be meeting at Winter Park Library, on the benches under the stairs. If you are a Winter Park resident and are able to secure us a room reservation, please reach out!

This event is free and open to the public. Feel free to come join us even if you don't get a chance to finish the book. We hope to see you there!
