Bi-Monthly Society Meeting - Fire and Glass
Details
Glass is notoriously difficult to photograph, partly because of reflections, and also because its transparency makes it difficult to distinguish detail on the front of the object from that showing through from the back. Combine that with fire and you have a truly unique, but challenging subject. Join this session to learn the tips necessary to capture the perfect image then sign up for our Saturday field shoot to Jack Pine's Studio to photograph glass blowers creating works of art.
As a reminder, our general bi-monthly meeting format is as follows.
6:30- 7:15: Welcome new members and tutorial topic
7:15 - 7:30: Field photography assignment & associated field Meetup Plan
7:30 - 8:30: Group image review and critique
8:30 - Closing comments
The above schedule has been designed around a number of thoughts:
-
Make the most effective use of everyone's time by keeping the meeting on track and on schedule.
-
Provide a cohesive tutorial topic, field assignment, and post assignment review. We call these assignments, but really they serve to; provide focus for the field Meetup topics, keep members inspired to shooting, and build on the community concept of promoting sharing and camaraderie amongst our members.
-
Provide photographic, composition, and motivational challenges to each of our members, in a fun and engaging way.
