Join us Saturday – May 10, 2025 @ Noon to 3PM at Belmont Lake State Park to meet your fellow members of CFI Long Island! Your host is CFI-LI coordinator Gerry Dantone. IT'S FREE!

We invite you to bring your favorite picnic/grilling foods or beverages to share as we resume live CFI Long Island programming in 2025 in addition to our Zoom seminars and meetings! We will be providing charcoal and equipment for grilling, paper plates, forks and napkins, (and probably some food as well.) PLEASE RSVP if you intend to be there so we can plan ahead!!

Parking at Belmont Lake State Park has always been FREE before Memorial Day, so we should be good. We do NOT have an alcohol permit for this event. We plan to secure picnic tables near the lake to the right of the open field in the picnic area (see brochure). A google map that shows the parking area is on this Meetup page. The picnic will be a great time to get reacquainted, and for many, to meet for the first time. We want to know what the members of CFI-Long Island want their organization to accomplish, and which members would be most interested in being active. We will be looking for persons to volunteer to run in-person and/or Zoom meetings, book clubs, and social events, etc. We’d also like to impact the community and encourage scientific inquiry and skepticism, reason, and a humanistic ethical outlook.

We need you to guarantee that the mission of the Center for Inquiry is successful. Now, more than ever, there is a need to promote the message of reason and compassion.
