RECON- Lake Howell June Cleanup

Please join us for our first event this year at Lake Howell as we work to restore its beauty! Lake Howell is such a beautiful place and we will always strive to keep it clean. Expect lots of trash here including cans, bottles and polystyrene.

We will be meeting at our usual spot behind the apartment complex before we launch and begin our cleanup. Events usually last around two hours plus additional time for weighing the trash/post event group photo.

As always, we will have at least 6 kayaks available to use but please bring one if you have your own. Please note there are no bathroom facilities/potable water on site. We will have a full selection of equipment to use, just bring water and a hat! If you are not inclined to go on the water, shoreline volunteers are always welcome and this site has a decent amount of lake front to assist with.

*Although there is not a current water advisory on Lake Howell at the time of this event's publishing, blue-green algae is known to occasionally bloom here. If you are adverse to algae or are immuno-compromised, please take this into consideration.
