✅ Guided Hikes: Each hike has a dedicated walk leader, most often with experience of leading groups ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. However, not all our walk leaders are qualified and although you walk at your own risk, it is thought to be safer walking in groups than individually. Safety

Sunday Coach 22nd June to Castleton ( NB North Yorkshire not Derbyshire ) departs Bradford 09-00 ( Route 3 ) Departs Keighley 08-30.
Nestled in the heart of the North York National Park .
Castleton is a charming village that offers visitors a glimpse into the rich history and natural beauty of Yorkshire . With a picturesque setting and its stunning landscape dominated by towering hills and valleys on the North York Moors .
For our walks this week we have three walks of differing distances as usual Plus the chance to spend the day in Castleton and explore its historic buildings and landmarks including the St Michael & St George church .Fat Betty
A Walk ( Harder )

Rosedale Abbey Village to Castleton .
Distance 10.9 miles
Ascent 1385 ft
Descent 1339 ft
From Rosedale we head into quite North Dale .After short walk up the Dale we leave the Dale passing Bottoms Farm & into Knotside Plantation ,here paths take us to the former Iron mining railway above Swine Style .We follow the railway passing the old mining mining buildings & workings .At the U turning in the railway & where the early River Severn drops down we have a short scramble up to meet Fat Betty .This by a road junction above Danby Head & close to the Millenium Stone . Leaving Fat Betty we descend to Danby Head from which we follow the Esk Trail down Danby Dale & into Castleton .Here we are close to the village of Botton a Camphill centre for Adults with learning difficulties .Rosedale

once paid confirmation and receipt will be issued .fare £15-00.If you are coming out with our group on a Sunday for the first time - please send a message and let us know where wish to board the coach and we can make sure someone is there to look out for you .

NB It is very important that correct clothing is worn or carried on our walks, including waterproofs, woolly hats or sunhats, warm gloves and sturdy hiking boots, as we often walk on rough terrain. The walk leaders have the right to refuse to allow anybody not properly equipped to join the walk. Please come prepared. You will need a packed lunch and enough fluids, and you may need suncream and insect repellent.
