This walk will start at 11-00 am on Thornton Road opposite Bell Dean Road .
After a short walk along Thornton Road we turn left down to Clayton Beck ,then climbing uphill to Deep Lane , which eventually brings us out at at Townend Clayton ..We now follow a track which leads us through Hanging Fall a good place for lunch stop .then eventually dropping down to Hole Bottom Beck and cockin Lane . We soon turn off to a path taking us to Thornton Church . From here we head back to Chat Hill and School Green where we enter Pitty Beck Nature Reserve , which takes us back to the start of the walk .
The whole walk is about 5 miles , with 6oo ft of climbing , we should be finished between 2/3 pm .
NB It is very important that correct clothing is worn or carried on our walks, including waterproofs, woolly hats or sunhats, warm gloves and sturdy hiking boots, as we often walk on rough terrain. The walk leaders have the right to refuse to allow anybody not properly equipped to join the walk. Please come prepared. You will need a packed lunch and enough fluids, and you may need sun cream and insect repellent.
