From there we skirt past the television repeater mast to the Summit of Rye Loaf Hill . The route now descends to pick up the Dales Highway and we follow this to just after Langscar Gate . The Pennine Way is now followed for a short distance to just before the Water Sinks .From there a wall is followed across to Abbots Hills and after that the path leading down to Gordale Scar is taken .The route via the waterfall will not be used but I will be using an alternative path that brings us back to the Dales Highway just above Gordale Bridge .
From there it is a short walk via Janet's Foss to our destination Malham.

B walk : Medium
Gargrave to Malham
Leader Simon Cotes
Distance 9/10 miles
Ascent 1500ft
We get off at the toilets at Gargrave which may be a relief to some people .
We then take tracks and paths following our way to Eshton ,Brockabank Bridge Winterburn and Winterburn reservoir .
From there we pick up the Dales Highway up to Weets Top.We then make our way to Gordale Scar to hopefully admire the beauty of this place in full force .Myself and several other members of the club climbed Gordale Scar around this time 4 years ago but alas we will not be doing that today .
We then come back on ourselves and decide on the day to either pick up the DHW again to go to the top of Malham Rakes and into the pub at Malham that way or we can choose to visit Janet's Foss and make our way to Malham that way .
Orignally I was leaving form Kirkby Malham but was given permission to change my route . Apologies to anyone that was keen to start from there.
