A Walk : Harder
Lancashire Lakes and Hills
Cadshaw (nr Darwen) to Chorley .
Distance : 12.3 miles Ascent: 2300ft

Getting off the coach with the B Party in Egerton we make our way over a bridg,in the woods , leaving the B party at this point and procede up to Dingle and Springs reservoir.From there we cross a road and a short climb up to Winberry Hill.This is the Steepest part of the walk however it is moderate.and very short at 300 yards. From there we follow pathk's to Winter Hill going round the back of Counting Hall in Smithhills Country Park , There is lots to explore up there with three other Peaks close by such as Rivington Pike however if time and progress dictates we then descend down to three further reservoirs crossing the M6 and along a section of the Leeds Liverpool canal to pop out onto the A6 where we finish our walk at a nearby Pub.

This 11 mile walk passes through the many reserervoirs of Anglezarke Moor.These historic Lancashire waterways are often referred to as the region's ,"little Lake District ".The Reservoirs were built-in the 1850s to supply drinking water to Liverpool.Starting from Egerton the route passes between Delph ,Dingle and Springs Reservoirs before reaching and crossing Ornamental Reservoir.Wards Reservoir comes next and from here the walk reaches it's peak at Ordern
Pasture.its a descent to Lead mines Clough.This area was mined
in the early 18th and 19th centuries and remains of bell pits and spoil heaps can be seen today.The route continues and skirts around Yarrow Reservoir ,crosses the dam wall between Anglezarke and Rivington Reservoirs before finishing in Limbrick .

C walk : easier
Pipe Lowe and Healey Nab
Abbey Village to Chorley

We start from Abby village and head South West towards Brinscall then South to some reservoirs ,crossing these we continue South to Nab Wood and Healey Nab. After crossing close to Chorley Reservoirs we cross the M61 and the canal to finish at the Yarrow Bridge pub at Red Bank.Please note this is the finish for A,B and C walks .it will be checked with JAK about the D pickup .
This is a lovely area that we rarely visit but it is well worth going to .
