**This group is for PARENTS and CAREGIVERS of neurodiverse children (ADHD/AuDHD/Autism) with a profile of Pathological Demand Avoidance (aka Pervasive Drive for Autonomy).**

The Parenting PDA peer support group is a safe, supportive, and judgment-free environment for caregivers of neurodiverse children (under age 18) with ADHD/AuDHD/Autism who have a PDA profile to reflect on and share our parenting challenges and successes, learn from one another, gain insights about PDA, develop new parenting strategies and skills, as well as discuss resources.

**About our CHADD and PDA North America facilitators.**
Suzanne Sophos is a neuro-inclusivity advocate who has been engaged in family and child work since 2010. She is the president-elect of Children and Adults with ADHD (CHADD), executive director of CHADD of Greater Los Angeles and the manager of the ADHD Empowerment Community™. Suzanne serves as co-chair of CHADD’s chapter advisory board, is a member of the editorial board for Attention Magazine, and serves on the planning committee for the Annual International Conference on ADHD. She grew up in Texas and received her communications degree from Texas Christian University before moving to Los Angeles with her husband. Her expertise includes serving as a social-emotional learning specialist, peer support specialist, ADHD educator, writer, and family / parent consultant. Suzanne has also been trained, certified, and previously served as a foster parent through the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services. Her work is informed by her education, professional experience, and life experience as an ADHD/2e individual and the parent of an ADHD/2e child.

Katie Southard works as a certified Integrative Hypnotist, Change Worker and Shamanic Counselor weaving together evidence-based and mystical practices to guide people back home to their own wisdom, power and True Nature. She approaches her single motherhood and business as radical spiritual practices centering compassion, trust, safety, connection (and lots of humor) over the deeply ingrained culture of compliance and authoritarianism and feels immensely blessed to have such a profound teacher in her wise and funny PDA son. Katie loves to serve other single mom, HSP, ND, queer, creative, culture-building agents of change such as herself.

Mandated Reporting Notice:
As a Certified Peer Support Specialist in the state of California, Suzanne is legally required to report any known or suspected abuse or neglect of children, elders, and dependent adults, as well as any threats of harm to oneself or others made by a child. This responsibility applies in all settings. However, as a parent of a child with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), she also uses her personal insights and experience to inform which situations require reporting, bringing a deeper understanding and perspective to her work within the PDA community.
