What we're about
Are you a parent of a kid, teen or young adult with ADHD? Are you overwhelmed by the toll it takes on you and your family? Come join other parents in sharing resources, supporting one another, and finding better ways to cope. Take the first step in helping yourself and your child by reaching out to others who understand what you are going through. We have both support group meetings and speaker meetings as often as possible. Our meetings are virtual based on demand for this however, in person meetings can be arranged if interested. Be sure to update your notification settings to alert you when a meeting is scheduled. You may also join our Facebook group "Chadd Morris County Parent Support Group" to see other related postings.
RSVP's: Updated responses are critical to your participation in this group. So, you showing up if you have RSVP'd "yes" is super important! If you need to cancel, please do so at least 48 hours prior to event otherwise, you will be considered a "no-show." We reserve the right to remove you from the group for repeatedly not showing up to meetings. We simply cannot ask our volunteers and professional affiliates to give of their time if members are not adhering to this policy. We understand that things come up so you can always message the organizer or host if that is the case.
While meetup is free for members to use, there is a cost to Organizers to run a group. To help defray our cost (currently $200/year) we request that each member contribute $10 at the first event you attend. This $10 cost will be payable annually. The $10 payment is nonrefundable if you leave the group, regardless of reason.
If you need to reach the coordinator, please email Morriscounty@chadd.org with any questions or feel free to use the messenger feature of meetup if you do not want to disclose any identifying information.
Professionals: If you are interested in supporting our members, please contact the organizer to do so. We invite professionals to host support meetings, be a guest speaker, provide education and services to our members. This can be a one time or repeat event and allows you to maintain affiliation with us and become a referral source.
Volunteers: If you have some connection to the ADHD community and want to get more involved, please email us with a description of your relationship to ADHD and what skills or knowledge you might be able to bring to our community.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you at the next meeting!
