In this presentation, Alex Herweyer will discuss the concept of developer productivity. Alex emphasizes the importance of allowing the creative process and analytical thinking to coexist in order to maximize developer productivity. He will explain how traditional metrics used to measure productivity, such as the ones in DevOps literature, only capture a part of the story and should not be the sole focus but instead suggests focusing on improving capabilities and fostering a culture of creative problem-solving.
Working in industries spanning from government to software, Alex has driven transformational change working with people, process & technology. He has a knack for bridging technology to business problems and for helping people feel comfortable with new ideas. Having assisted Atlassian’s evolution through team level improvement and adoption of common metrics and practices, Alex is now focusing on the Identity AuthZ space as a Principal Technical Program Manager.
