About us

Once a month, a few of us find a quiet spot in central Stockholm and talk about a book — no rush, no agenda, no need to have it all figured out beforehand. Just good conversation, at its own pace.

We read on purpose — classics we've circled for years, prize-nominated authors, hidden gems, voices from around the world in their own language or in translation. The group stays small so everyone's actually heard, and we favor libraries, indie bookshops, and second-hand finds over buying new.

Reading East of Eden by J. Steinbeck (Parts 1 and 2)

We're kicking off with John Steinbeck's East of Eden, reading it together between October and November. Our first meeting on October 27 we'll spend discussing Parts 1 and 2 before moving on to the rest of the book at our second meeting in November.

It's a small group, 6 people max, meeting somewhere quiet in central Stockholm (location confirmed by October 20). This is a one-session tryout: show up once, and if it fits, you're welcome to stay — no need to have it all figured out, just come as you are.

A quick note on timing: the TV adaptation drops October 1, but we'd love to keep our discussion spoiler-free.
