What we’re about

Do you know that string quartets in the classical period used to be done on a round table? With a high level of musical education in Hong Kong, I often find it a pity that we do not probably have enough opportunities to jam and to share the joy of classical chamber music...

I see much jazz / pop jamming but not classical, thus establishing this group to call for like-minded musicians. We can book a decent piano venue regularly (Ideally about once a month) and do reading or even rehearsals on piano trios, quartets, quintets... or string quartets, instrumental trios etc... as long as you are up for jamming :D

I myself play the piano and play repertoire like these:

  • Major piano quartets / quintets from Schumann, Brahms, Dvorak, Mendelssohn, Franck...
  • Many violin sonatas
  • Cello sonatas
  • some flute, oboe and trumpet collaborations
    etc...
I can also do piano duets and duos.

One big dream is to play the end of time by Messiaen...not sure if anyone is up for it? I have the score!

Would be interested to meet new faces and jam...those from the classical period would be easiest for sight-reading and instant jam to start with. I myself can read classical and romantic ones pretty instantly.

The minimum requirement would be:

  • decent sight-reading skills
  • good musicianship sense
  • preferably have performance experience before, particularly in chamber music. But if not it's also fine - everyone has their first try at some point :)

Welcome to join and share about your instrument and any repertoire you would love to play!
