Hello and welcome to the Champaign Dads Support Group!

I'm Nicholas, the organizer and I started this group because I've been going through a brutal custody situation for over a year now and wished something like this existed when I was in the worst of it.

This is a peer support space for fathers in the Champaign-Urbana area who are dealing with custody disputes, orders of protection, co-parenting challenges, or the fallout from false allegations. If that's you, you're in the right place.

A few things to know upfront:

• Privacy and confidentiality are the foundation of this group. Everything shared here, including who attends, stays strictly confidential. Members may not share, disclose, or report any information about other members or their situations to anyone outside the group.

• This group is for fathers seeking support for their own situations. Per Meetup's community guidelines, all members are expected to be transparent about who they are and their reasons for joining.

• Illinois is an all-party consent state. No recording of any kind is permitted at meetings without the express consent of every person present.

• This is peer support, not legal or therapeutic advice. We share experiences and resources, but we're not professionals acting in a professional capacity. If you need an attorney or therapist, we can help point you in the right direction.

• The organizer reserves the right to remove any member at any time to protect the safety and privacy of the group.

Our meetings are a judgment-free zone. No pressure to share anything you're not comfortable with.

If you're planning to attend our next meeting, please RSVP so I know how many to expect. And if you have any questions, feel free to message me directly.

Glad you found us. You're not alone in this.
