Weekly Poetry Writing Workshop at Chandler Community Center: Thought-Provoking Poetry of Hip Hop

Join us for our WEEKLY poetry workshop at the Chandler Community Center. We are writers meeting each week to share our work and to get inspired. We alternate leadership from week to week, each of us bringing different topics, poetry forms and approaches into the mix, stimulating ongoing discussions. We want to write MORE poems, better poems, and get those poems on the stage and into publications.

• What we'll do
This week, Joel will host us on a tour through the thought provoking poetry of hip hop. We will write from prompts provided by Joel and share what we come up with. We often discuss current poetry related events around the valley or favorite writers. We always leave time so that participants can share a recent poem or other writing with the group, either for feedback or general support.

• What to bring – Pen and paper. Optional: Please bring copies of a recent poem or draft to share with the group (any topic). We can provide feedback, or just a supportive audience for your work.

• Important to know – We provide a supportive community for poets of all styles and skill levels.
