What we’re about

We gather as a community committed to doing hard things—physical challenges that push our limits, clear our minds, and remind us what we are capable of. Inspired in part by misogi, the Japanese Shinto practice of purification in cold rivers and waterfalls to cleanse body and spirit, we embrace demanding challenges as a way to wash off the noise of everyday life and return to what is essential and true. We believe that action succeeds where mere reflection sometimes fails, and that the struggle of shared effort can be deeply therapeutic, much like the modern spirit of misogi: choosing rare, nearly impossible efforts that shape how we live the rest of our days. In choosing discomfort together, we strengthen not only our bodies but our resilience, integrity, and sense of purpose. Through these trials we forge bonds that are dependable, uplifting, and lasting—relationships built on showing up, persevering, and inspiring one another. This group exists to help each of us become stronger than we were yesterday, and to ensure that none of us walks that path alone.

Note: This group was founded 11/13/2025 I am in the process of defining it and am open to feedback and collaboration. Please message me directly if you have an interest in being a cofounder. I could use help in areas of website, ideas for misogis / missions, and group structure.
