About us
The Charlotte Chess Center (CCC), founded in March of 2014, serves as a place where members of all ages and skill levels can congregate and enjoy the royal game of chess. The CCC serves as an educational hub for chess in the Charlotte area; offering camps, classes and lectures year round.
The CCC is devoted to chess education. Led by masters, our team of instructors are the most highly qualified in the Southeast. Regularly contributing to the advancement of our chess curriculum, our instructors are well equipped to provide the highest quality of chess education.
Our reputation is second to none within the community. Over 60 schools in the Charlotte Metro Area trust us to provide their students with the highest quality chess program available. In addition to the 2500+ students who receive our chess program at school, our centers in North and South Charlotte are home to over 1000 members of all ages.
The CCC was recipient of both 2018 "City of the Year" and 2019 "Chess Club of the Year" by the United States Chess Federation

Casual Adult Sunday

Are you a chess player aged 18+? If so, join us for an evening of fun, casual chess at our North location in Huntersville, NC. Whether you are an experienced player or are making your first moves in chess, this is a welcoming environment for you to get in some social, over-the-board chess.
CCC coaches will be on hand to provide guidance and assistance when desired and an optional lecture will be held at 8:00 pm for those who would like to attend.

Every Monday, the CCC hosts casual play for adults. This is a great event for adults who want to learn or who want to just get in some casual over-the-board play. We have players from beginners to grandmasters attend, so there is something for everyone!
CCC coaches will be onsite to facilitate play and give pointers to those who would like them.
Whether you are making your first strides in chess, currently play online, or even in tournaments, adult casual night is a light and fun way to enjoy the royal game.
There is an optional instructional lecture at 7:30 pm.

Tuesday Night Action

The CCC conducts a weekly US Chess rated game every Tuesday night. This is a great way for players to get weekly practice without committing a whole weekend to play a tournament. The Top Section also FIDE-rated - offering the only free weekly FIDE-rated game in the country! In addition, there is a free lecture before the games begin.

Naroditsky Memorial Rapid and Blitz
Charlotte Marriott City Center, 100 West Trade Street, Charlotte, NC, USIn honor of our late GM-in-Residence, GM Daniel Naroditsky, the Naroditsky Memorial Rapid and Blitz tournament will bring together elite players, elite content creators, and regular players and spectators.
Players include Hikaru Nakamura, Fabiano Caruana, Javokhir Sindarov, Wesley So, and Hans Neimann.
Content Creators include GothamChess, the Botez Sisters, Dina Belenkaya, Eric Rosen, Sagar Shah, Aman Hambleton, Julien Song, John Bartholomew, and Danny Rensch.

- July 5th - Blitz Playoff and Creator Invitational
- NOTE: All players are allowed to spectate the Invitational and Playoff!
This is a US Chess/FIDE rated tournament. You must have a US Chess membership to play.
