Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Meetup

If you love someone struggling with addictive behavior and want to know how you can help, join us for the SMART Recovery Family & Friends program. It's a mutual support program for parents, family members, partners, and friends impacted by the addictive behavior of a loved one. Registration is optional--feel free to just show up!

This program introduces cognitive skills tools and evidence-based strategies of the Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) approach and the Invitation to Change Approach from the Center for Motivation and Change Foundation. Participants connect with one another and discuss practical tools for coping more effectively and/or supporting a loved one more effectively, as they choose.

Unplug from screens and dive into the world of board gaming with a variety of games suitable for all ages. Participating in board games encourages cooperation, problem solving, letter and word recognition, and critical thinking skills.

This program will be provided by Mountain Island Library and is recommended for ages 5+. A variety of games, including chess, Uno, Catan, and more will be available to use during the program.
Snacks will be provided!
