About us
You’ve probably been meaning to get out of the house on a Monday night and do something that actually feels good—not just another scroll session or background TV. This is a chance to walk into a room where the energy is real, the laughter is easy, and nobody expects perfection. It’s a group of regular guys showing up at the start of the week to make something together, shake off the day, and leave feeling better than when they walked in.
You don’t need to be a trained singer, read music, or have any kind of performance background. If you can carry a tune (or even if you’re not sure you can), you’ll fit right in. The vibe is welcoming, low-pressure, and surprisingly uplifting—part music, part camaraderie, part “I didn’t know I needed this.” There’s something powerful about hearing your voice blend into a group sound, even on your first night.
Haven’t sung in years? No problem. We provide learning tracks to make practicing easy.
Come by, listen, join in as much or as little as you want, and see how it feels. Worst case, you spent an evening trying something new. Best case, you find a weekly reset you actually look forward to—and a group of guys you didn’t know you were missing.
This group is for men of all ages interested in 4-part a cappella music. The Gold Standard Chorus is active group of 20-30 members, singing a cappella and barbershop harmony style music. We perform several times a year in the Charlotte metro area, including a joint Christmas show with the ladies of the Queen Charlotte Chorus. No formal music or training is required. Music and learning tracks are provided to members. There are additional opportunities for singing in quartets and smaller ensembles.

Gold Standard Chorus Weekly Meeting
Aldersgate Retirement Community, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC, USThinking about trying something new this week?
Come visit the Gold Standard Chorus on Monday night and see what a cappella singing is all about. You don’t need any experience, you don’t need to read music, and there’s no pressure to perform. Most first-time visitors choose to jump in and sing, but you’re just as welcome to sit back and listen and get a feel for the group.
At a typical rehearsal, you’ll hear and learn a few songs, try out some simple harmonies, and experience what it’s like to sing in a four-part chorus. We provide music and learning tracks, and there are plenty of friendly faces to help you along the way.
If you’ve ever been curious about singing—or just want a better way to spend a Monday night—come check it out. Stay for the whole rehearsal or drop in for a bit. Either way, you’ll be glad you gave it a try.
