Hello, sewing and fabric lovers far and wide! We are a group of sewing-enthusiasts who love to make and create. Whether you are a beginner sewist or an experienced seamstress, you are welcome to join our family. We host monthly live Sip & Sew events where you can either bring your own project to work on, or work on quick-sew projects we have for you to practice on. We also host sewing workshops, virtual Sew & Chats and other fun events, so be on the lookout for announcements. We look forward to having become a part of our community where we share ideas, improve our skills, and inspire each other. See you at our next meetup!

Learn to Sew Pants (6-wk Course)

🌺Have you been dreaming about making your own pants? This class is for you! In this 6-week course, you will learn how to: Use a sewing pattern, Prepare and cut fabric, Learn sewing techniques such as adding pockets, waist elastic, seam finishes, hemming and more!By the end of this 6- week course, you will have a pair of pants to take home to proudly wear! We will wrap up our class on Oct 12th, with our usual mini fashion show to commemorate your accomplishments!
🌺Who can take this class?: This is a beginner friendly class for students who have basic sewing machine skills- that's all! We will guide you through the rest🙂
🌺Supplies Provided: Sewing machine, thread, sewing tools, and sewing pattern. If you prefer to bring your own sewing machine, you are welcome to do so.
🌺Students to Bring:
- Fabric (yardage will be provided at the end of class #1 based on measurements) If must order online, for Small-Medium get at least 3 yards, Large and higher will need approximately 4-5 yards depending on height as well.) These are very general guidelines.
- Elastic (2 inch wide and long enough to wrap around your waist plus 1 inch extra length (without stretching)
*** Suggested fabric options: Cotton, Quilting Cotton, Poplin, Linen, flannel, Rayon without stretch, Polyester. (NO Stretchy fabric).
*** Where to buy local Fabric; Michael's in Matthews, Hobby Lobby, Sew much Fun, Walmart
***Online fabric stores (you will need your fabric by class #2).

Silvia is a sewing professional with a bachelor's degree in Fashion Design from Parsons, NY and an AAS in Fashion Design and Fine Arts and illustration. She has extensive industry work experience in fashion design and has taught classes in sewing, pattern making, and knitting.Cancellation Policy: We require a minimum of 48-hour notice so we can offer the class to others

Pant Hem Alteration
Charlotte Creative Space, 6303 Carmel Rd, 105, Charlotte, NC, US🌸In this class you will be learn how to alter the hem of pants made of various fabrics from an expert seamstress.
🌸You will learn techiniques like blind hemming with a sewing machine vs hand sewing, edge stitcing techniques, presser foot options, different fabric type considerations. By the end of the class, you will have alteration skills you can use on your garments for years to come.
🌸Materials : will be provided including sample hems and all sewing tools. Feel free to bring your own pants to shorten or lengthen, if you would like.
🌸Who should take this class? This class is beginner friendly and best for those with basic familiarity with using a sewing machine.
