Hello, sewing and fabric lovers far and wide! We are a group of sewing-enthusiasts who love to make and create. Whether you are a beginner sewist or an experienced seamstress, you are welcome to join our family. We host monthly live Sip & Sew events where you can either bring your own project to work on, or work on quick-sew projects we have for you to practice on. We also host sewing workshops, virtual Sew & Chats and other fun events, so be on the lookout for announcements. Hemming Alterations: Various Fabrics
Charlotte Creative Space, 6303 Carmel Rd, 105, Charlotte, NC, USDescription: You will be guided through various techniques of hem alterations using different fabrics.
You will learn how to: Shorten or lengthen a garment, blind hem with a sewing machine or hand sewing, edge stitch techniques, Fresser foot options, hand sewing options, add embellishments and using different fabric type considerations. By the end of the class, you will have alteration skills you can use for future projects.
Materials: All materials will be provided including sample hems of various fabrication**. Feel free to bring your own garment to shorten or lengthen.**
Who should take this class? This class is beginner friendly and best for those with basic familiarity with using a sewing machine or hand sewing a simple stitch.
Instructor: Mila is an accomplished seamstress with many years of fashion industry and garment sewing experience. She is passionate about sharing her skills with other makers.
