Want learn how to use a Serger? This is a full day Serger/Sewing Workshop where you

  • Learn how to thread a serger
  • Create a balanced overcast stitch
  • Learn about differential feeds and basic hemming technique
  • Make 2 Projects:
  • - A card wallet with woven fabric 2.
  • - A basic t-shirt using knit fabric
  • By the end of the class, you will be familiar with techniques needed to construct basic garments and other projects on a serger. You will apply what you learned by making a card wallet to take home and a T-shirt to be donated to charity!

🧵 All class materials will be provided i.e. fabric, sewing tools, and notions and a serger with thread if you dont have one ( please let us know in advance).

🧵 If you have a serger, you are encouraged to bring it with its manual and 4 spools of thread/ with the following colors (blue, green, yellow, red) and white or grey serger thread ( 3 or 4). You can bring regular machine thread if you can't find serger thread.

Instructor: Pat Walker has over 50 years of sewing experience, including sewing, quilting, and serger techniques.

We will break for lunch 12-1pm. You can bring lunch. Light snacks and water will be provided.
