The Manchester area is packed full of beautiful places, from what I can tell and I have been wanting to go there and check out Old Stone Fort Archeological Park for quite some time. We have Sept. 9th free on our COA calendar, so let's make it happen! I have researched and even called and spoke to a park ranger and I am told that this park is easy in nature. All trails lists it as easy as well.

The Old Stone Fort Archeological Park is rich with history of the Native People. Reportedly the original entrance to the park faced the precise spot on the horizon where the sun rose on the summer solstice and was a guide to the Native people. There is mystery shrouded around the park because The Native people were long gone at the time the European settlers arrived.

"There are places where the connection between manmade structures and the natural world can be felt at a deep level, places where ancient humans attuned to the rhythms of Mother Earth and incorporated those rhythms into structures they built with their hands"

We will start the day visiting Rutledge Falls, which is directly off the road by .3 miles. It is reportedly a very popular waterfall with swimming and may be crowded. I see a lot of photos with people standing in the falls. This may be the time to bring a change of clothes so you can get the optimum waterfall photo!

Then we will head to Old Stone Fort and look at all it has to offer. I have not been here but the ranger said we could leisurely enjoy the entire area in around 2 hours.

We will then head over to Bean Creek Winery. A good place to dry off and change and drink some yummy wine. I hear it is very good and we may want to buy a few bottles.

We will cap off our day with great bar food, brews and live music at Common John Brewery.

I would love to carpool with anyone that would like to join me. I will open chat on this and we can see who else may want to carpool. We can meet and park at Walmart on Gunbarrel.

There is no way to truly know timing on this day. So I am just setting a start time and we will meander through the day as it comes.

I am posting this as Eastern time, but the destination is Central time. Make note of that.

This is an all day event. If you decide to do part of this event, that is fine too! Just be sure to get my number and drop me a text on when you will be arriving and I can tell you where we are. You are also free to leave at any part of this day. That is unless you are in the car with me.

I set the start time as the time you need to leave Chattanooga area. 12:30 EASTERN. Arrive Manchester to start the events of the day at 1:00 p.m. CENTRAL.
