Switching this back to a No Reservations event from the Moveable feast. No need to beat Hemingway into the ground. Plus the acerbic yet thoughtful style of Bourdain suits me better. Both those guys could find the sublime with their simplicity.

"When dealing with complex transportation issues, the best thing to do is pull up with a cold beer and let somebody else figure it out." Anthony Bourdain

There's something comforting when you learn to let go. Not worry about every detail. Not care what an individual thinks of you and certainly not to get stressed when the things you plan don't go exactly as planned. Last year our group had over 140 events. We will probably beat that number this year. Planning stuff for others is almost a weekly thing for me. I've learned to sometimes just go with the flow. Last year we tubed down the river and found out the planned eating place Miso Hungry had sipped their last soup, the ramen was resting in peace, the sushi had gone South. They were simply put out of business, tits up, Kaput.

Standing in a parking lot looking through the window at an empty place means this isn't going as planned, but that is okay.

We ended up at a Mexican restaurant sipping cervezas and amazing Agua Frescas and raised our cholesterol with cheese dip. We were pretty loud and there was a lot of laughter. Not as planned, but in the end it worked itself out to be pretty great because we relaxed and had a beer.

It actually was a really nice moment. We just drank our beer and let things happen. I like that you guys are flexible.

For this weeks late Friday night dinner It's Alex's Thai Food and Noodle Bistro. I have eaten here before and it's delicious. They are like me and can get quite spicy if you like. In the spirit of all this I of course have made no reservations. Let's see what happens.

It's literally a couple of blocks from my Wayfair and Goodwill Decorated tiny home. Nothing, but the cheap stuff for this guy. Think Fancy Dorm room. The painted cinderblock walls of the dorm of my youth with the posters hung with that blue Fun Tak stuff and the questionable stains on the threadbare carpet means it doesn't take much of an upgrade to look posh. Current place is a little bit nicer. Certainly cleaner.

Prisons on some episodes of NCIS looked better than the first dorm I was in. In fact some 60 minutes interviews at the actual Pokey looked better. Only thing nicer in the dorm was we didn't have a commode right where we slept. That was a nice touch.

Anyways, I am going to walk over grab a table and eat with whoever shows up. drink a cold beer and enjoy a nice Curry. Probably solve a world problem or two. Or contemplate on what I want to be if I ever grow up, and let everything else sort itself out. I have enjoyed the sometimes twenty plus to just a few people crowds we have for these meals filled with laughter and conversation.

You can join me.

I can't find their website, but the place is legit delicious.

After we might grab a beer somewhere then I head home to sleep for our tubing event the next morning.

It's a long Memorial weekend and I will be home till Monday night. Might schedule some more trouble. Might just chill out. Maybe start writing my book. Or some short stories....

Short? Short stories?

I crack myself up. I can get pretty long winded.

I am an old man so there's not much time left on that figuring out what I want to be when I grow up so bring some ideas. I'll take all the help I can get.
