Okay, get a little choked up. The dude with the beer in the picture is Sam Giese. He was the doggie love of my life. We spent hours hiking, walking, and occasionally hanging out in bars. When I got him he was skin and bones. Somebody had put him out.

He turned out to be the most gentle, shy, and sweet boy ever.

He was however a terrible wingman. He and I were at one of our Huntsville haunts. The same place as in this picture, Straight to Ale. A dude with a dog? Of course the ladies are going to come up right? Well there was a table full, I mean packed with woman. One walked up and asked his name. "Sam" she then proceeds to get all of the other woman over and introduces them... to Sam. Number who spoke to me? Zero, zip Nada, No-one.

Sam had a love for Straight to Ale's pretzels and these ladies had ordered one. He walks over an pretty much charms them out of three fourths of the pretzel. When they leave "Bye Sam" "Your so cute" "Such a good boy," "Thanks for sharing our pretzel."

Number of them them that spoke to me? Yea still nothing

He watches them leave

I say when they're out of Earshot "Bye, my name is Michael by the way."

Sam turns, looks back at me a basically sniffs mockingly in my direction. Then goes back to wagging his tail at the woman leaving. They wave at him.

"Thanks for not introducing me to the Table of pretty women Sam"

Ignores me and walks over to a bowl of water the ladies had gotten and brought him and loudly slurps out a drink. Guess he was full from the pretzel and not interested in helping me.

Bestest dog ever that someone just threw out and the worst wingman ever.

My point? Support the places that rescue these guys. There are some pretty awesome buddies in there. Actual results on picking up cute woman may vary.

How? The Fast and the Furriest 5K and Dog walk. You can meet the love of your life there because they will have adoptables and you can walk some of them.

Getting a date is another matter altogether. You're on your own.

You might meet the furry love of your life. A dog of course not someone with a hairy back. Well, I mean you might. You get a T-shirt too so you could make them wear that.

Might stop by Mike's Tavern for a beer after. I lost Sammy a couple of years ago so no help on attracting cute people to the table. Not that he would throw you a castoff or anything anyways.
