Ernő Rubik created the Rubik's cube while teaching architecture, aiming to model 3D structures in Hungary. In the late 1970s, it was licensed and renamed by Ideal Toy Corp for its international launch, becoming the iconic "Rubik's Cube" Oh and Ernő it took him a full month to solve his own puzzle and he was a math dude.

Furthermore Solving a Rubik's Cube is excellent for your brain, boosting cognitive skills like memory, problem-solving, and spatial reasoning, while also improving focus, patience, and hand-eye coordination through pattern recognition and strategic planning, acting as a great mental workout.

Especially Hand to Eye coordination. I mean peeling the stickers off and placing them back in the proper order is tedious and takes skill.
