Michael Jackson Movie 1/2 off and Ramen Noodles

Okay to be clear if you Join the AMC Stubs program you get the half off. Do that BEFORE you buy your ticket.

I am a cheap date. Half off movie night and Ramen. to put. this in perspective the average price of a Movie ticket when The original Michael Jackson Thriller Video came out was $3.15. The average price of gas was $1.24. A house was $75,000, and that was in a neighborhood that wasn't a bit questionable. A car? It was $10,607.

Now a Pickup Truck tops $100,000. That was Lamborghini Diablo Territory back then. All I could afford was the poster with the chick in a bikini leaning on it.

So I can't get you into the movie at 1983 prices, but I can get you in for around $6.50. That's around the 2005 prices. Join the Stubs program at AMC and you get 1/2 off on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

So we can't go back on prices, but we can go back in time by seeing the Michael Jackson Movie. Well we can at least reminisce.

I have tickets in seats F6&F7 for my daughter and I if you want to sit with us just pick a seat nearby. Choose Tuesday @ 6:10. I was going to do Wednesday, but that would put me in trouble with someone. So Tuesday it is.

Then since we are going back in time it was 1983. I was about to take a gap year between High school and college. I finished the year broke, tired, and thoroughly pleased with how I had wasted that year of my life. I may not have been Rhodes Scholar who went on to become a Titan of Industry, but I have had an interesting life and a lot of fun.

That Freshman year of college? A full year after the thriller Video came out? Yea, I was broke and ate a lot of Ramen. The price back then for a pack of Maruchan Ramen was 10 cents. So to commemorate that we go to Attack of the Tatsu for some fancy $16 dollar Ramen.
