Zhongjiashan: A Walk Through the Forest, A Conversation with Nature

Details

This Saturday, would you like to “escape” the city with us?

How long has it been since you truly walked?
Not the hurried steps during your commute, not the mechanical rhythm in stairwells—
But walking without your phone, without checking the time,
Letting your feet measure the length of spring,
Feeling growth through each step,
And letting your five senses connect with nature.

City life moves too fast. Our minds are too cluttered.
We keep thinking, “I should try a little harder.”
But that “little” effort always seems never enough.
Anxiety, burnout, emotional fatigue—they’re like the air, always there.

Have you ever had moments like these:
Wanting to escape your current life?
Wanting to avoid complicated relationships?
Or just simply… wanting to be alone, in peace?

Yet, what do we usually do?
Open short videos, scroll till midnight.
Sit in a café zoning out, then return to where we started.
And you realize—changing the scenery doesn’t always change the thoughts in your head.

It’s not that we don’t want to pause—
We’ve just forgotten: walking out is also a solution.

On April 19th, Xiaodao Book Club invites you to take a walk with us.

Zhongjiashan is located in the Huahai-Linlu section of Longquan Mountain Urban Forest Park,
one of the closest mountain trails to downtown Chengdu.
Starting from Feilong Lake Reservoir and ending at Taohua Guli,
the route stretches 10 kilometers—
gentle slopes, steady paths, and picture-perfect views.

We’ll pass four scenic viewpoints:
• “Yi Lan • Halfway Up” — Overlooking the skyline of Chengdu.
• “Er Xun • Wild Beauty” — Discovering the scent of spring in the wild flora.
• “San Kan • Floating Clouds” — Watching Mount Gongga emerge through a sea of clouds.
• “Si Le • Green Fields” — Enjoying the breeze and serenity of countryside fields.

As wind brushes the treetops and sunlight hits the wooden boardwalk,
you’ll see the forest breathe—
and hear the quiet voice inside your heart.

You’ll meet fellow walkers—share thoughts, worries, or maybe just silence.
Simply walking together, feeling the presence of spring.

And perhaps you’ll realize:
Those “unsolvable problems” aren’t so scary after all.
Those “things you couldn’t figure out” suddenly become clear.
And the version of you that’s been neglected for so long might finally say, “Hello.”

You don’t need profound theories to change your life—
sometimes, you just need a real beginning.

As Hippocrates said: “Walking is the best medicine.”

This time, let’s read in a different way:
Read thousands of books, and walk thousands of miles.

A journey where nature and humanity intertwine.
A group of companions who are ready to share and listen.
A rare moment to have a deep conversation with yourself.

No pressure, no speed requirement—
Just bring a pair of comfortable shoes, a curious heart, and the willingness to move.

Zhongjiashan—are you coming?

Don’t wait for “when I have time”—
The mountain is already waiting for you.

Walk, look, feel—
Spring is on the way.
And maybe, the answers are already right beneath your feet.
