Last week,I went to the world culture heritage site- Dujiangyan Irrigation System and enjoyed the hike very much!
I felt very sorry that the steam train meetup activity on 20th March was cancled by travel agency due to the insufficient train tickets.
But,I do not want to miss out this lovely spring.Will you join me on 20th March to hike Dujiangyan Irrigation System Heritage Park?Let's embrace the nature and ancient culture!
Instead of the normal tourist route,we will start the trip from Mt.Yulei,on the top,you will have a bird's eye view of the Dujiangyan irrigation system.
Then hike to historical Taoist temples and gardens which inspired the panda village in Kungfu Panda 3.
You will cross the ancient Anlan suspension bridge,visit the major parts of irrigation system,to understand how dose the Dujiangyan Irrigation works.
After the hike,eat in traditional Muslim restaurant in Dujiangyan old town,the dishes are really yummy!!!!
Outline of the itinerary
8:00:Meet up at Exit A,Xipu Metro Station,Line 2
8:37-9:15 Take highspeed train to Dujiangyan
9:30-12:30:Hike in Dujiangyan Irrigation System heritage park
13:00-14:00 Lunch in Local Muslim restaurant
14:00-15:15 Free time on your own to explore the Dujiangyan old town,meet up at Dujiangyan railway station
15:35-15:49 Take highspeed train back to Xipu
Upon Arrival in Xipu, transfer metro Line 2 back to Chengdu
How to get there?
We meet up at 8:00am on 20th March in Xipu metro station,transfer to take highspeed train C6153(08:37-09:15) to Lidui park(离堆公园)
P.S:Metro station and train station are next to each other.2 minute walking distance.
How to buy train ticket?
You need to buy roundtrip train tickets by yourself,and I recommend to buy in advance.

1.Visit China railway offical site:www.12306.cn.The interface may be difficult for foreingers,you may ask help from your Chinese friends.
2.Bring your passpoart,buy directly from railway station or train ticket office.
Important notice:Please bring your passport on 20th March to board the train!!!

Basic facts about Dujiangyan Irrigation System
1.When was it built?
Began in the 3rd century BC,over 2000 years history and still working!!!
2.Where is Dujiangyan Irrigation System
56 kilometers (34.8miles) west of Chengdu at Dujiangyan city
3.What make it on the list of World Culture Heritage?
It is the oldest and only surviving no-dam irrigation system in the world.
The project consists of three important parts, namely Fish-Mouth(鱼嘴）, Flying-Sand Wire（飞沙堰） and Bottle-Neck Channel(宝瓶口），scientifically designed to automatically control the water flow of the rivers from the mountains to the plains,serving as not only as flood prevention but also as an immense source for irrigation as well as a means to facilitate shipping and wood drifting
It has contributed greatly to the richness of Chengdu Plain and helps it earn its reputation as "The Land of Abundance".
