Chess IRL opening event at Central Machine Works Brewery! Let's have a drink and play Chess!

We normally have a turnout of 10-20 people of all skill levels. Most people do not RSVP to the meetup so don't be discouraged to show up if there are only a couple of RSVP's.

The best bet for parking is the back gate on W. 5th street. It's
between Springdale Road and Spencer lane with signs saying "Central
Machine Works."

Who should join Chess IRL?

Absolutely everyone is welcome! All skill levels, especially beginners & newcomers! This is meant to be a casual, fun, and chill community for all participants.

How often does Chess IRL meet?

We meet every weekend on Sundays. The meeting times are adjusted throughout the year to accommodate the temperatures.

Where will Chess IRL meet?

We meet every Sunday at Central Machine Works Brewery in East Austin

Do I need to bring any sets or clocks?

Chess IRL currently has 10 chess sets and 5 clocks. If events exceed that size then we will ask for participants to bring some extra sets.

Are there Any Dues or Fees for Chess IRL?

Chess is for everyone, therefore there will NEVER be any dues or fees required, ever! Donations in the form of communal chess sets & clocks, are welcome and would be very much appreciated.

Great question! This group has no formal group or business affiliations.
