Thinking Out Loud!
Details
Thinking Aloud is open to everyone but please register to attend - space is limited. Come and enjoy a morning of stimulating literature and conversation.
This informal and friendly group meets to listen to someone reading an extract, short story and often a poem too. Frequent pauses in the reading give us the opportunity to chat about what we've imagined/thought of/felt as we've listened.
Stories are read aloud and people can simply listen or follow the text. No one else need read aloud unless they so wish. It's an enjoyable way to meet people, explore some great writing and enjoy some wonderful discussions.
The group sometimes meet afterwards in the Kitchen @ Storyhouse to enjoy each other's company over a tea, coffee or other beverage.
“Literature can be a form of ‘doing philosophy.’ It’s a form of ethical exploration, partly by seeing things through very different points of view and insights.”
Julian Baggini, philosopher and patron of Humanists UK.
To keep numbers manageable spaces are limited so please register – If the list is full please add your name to the waiting list and if anyone does have to drop out you may get a slot.
The event is free though a donation may be requested.
