Is our BBC a valuable service worth keeping and if so should it change in any way?

Does the concept of a universally available publicly funded national broadcaster still hold value in our digital age? Is it fair? Which BBC services hold most value (if any). If there is a future for the BBC what might that look like and how should it be funded (its charter is up for renewal towards the end of 2027)? Should it change to a subscription service perhaps - try to compete with commercial broadcasters?
What are the pros and cons of public service broadcasting?
Does the BBC have an unfair advantage over private organisations because of its funding?
