The world has changed a lot over time - the age of humans in particular has brought incredible change. In what ways can we consider human progress? - what should we take into account to enable us to establish a "state of humanity"?

Could human progress be measured by ascertaining the length of people’s lives compared to historical life expectancy – health? - perhaps the richness of a persons life experiences – humanity’s ability to conquer health threats – ease of life - use of technology – exploration of earth and elsewhere – finding new places for people to live – the degree to which humans co-operate and share finite resources – relationship with the rest of the natural world – humans impact on other life forms – reduction in conflict – creativity – scientific understanding?
