Chicago Anime Hangouts turns 2 years old this year!! And to celebrate, we're holding an extra fancy Black Tie Potluck Charity. Here's a breakdown of what that means!

The Black Tie Part:
• Simply come wearing your fanciest business attire~! (if you want to 👀)
• Tucked-in dress shirts, suits, ties, jeans, blah blah blah.
• Dress like you want to impress the Shareholders™.

The Potluck Part:
• Make something you love for everyone to eat~!
• Cooking, baking, roasting, you name it! 🤤
• Plates & utensils are also appreciated. ❣️

The Charity Part:
• This is our once-a-year charity drive for ourselves! 😤
• We're looking to earn up to $350.00 dollars to pay for this year's subscription of Meetup Pro+ Host (crazy pricing, I know... 🫩).
• Our current donation percentage can be seen in our Meetup's 'About' page; as of 02/22/2026 we've already raised $220.00 dollars for this year (just $130.00 dollars to go)!

• Any more, & we'll invest it all back into the group (such as for free food at future outings).
• Any less, & a few of us organizers will cover the remaining charge. 🫡

The Charity Incentive:
• The organizers are bringing whipped cream ☁️ & pie 🥧!
• Anyone who wishes to donate any $ amount may pie an organizer in the face!! 😂

About Chicago Anime Hangout's Funds:
• Chicago Anime Hangouts is a volunteer-run group dedicated to events that're fun & bring the Chicago anime/nerd community closer!
• Being volunteer-run, we rake in approximately $0.00 (& sometimes less) per event we host.
• Unfortunately, Meetup charges a LOT to own a group, & they've been increasing their already-high costs every year. 😓
• Like many other Meetup groups, we've been searching for alternative hangout apps to use – but Meetup still holds the majority audience for people simply looking for stuff to do.
• We'll still be on Meetup until its potential collapse, but every dollar we save means a lot!

About Revolution Brewing:
• Founded in 2010, Revolution Brewing produces more than 20 different beers across its 60-barrel facility.
• Revolution Brewing has become Illinois' largest craft brewery, set with a giant taproom & plenty of seating. 🙏
