READ THE CHAT,_ we're first gonna meet-up @ HUDSON CHESS PARK (directly outside of the entrance) for ~15 min & then go to the event at 5:45pm~6:00pm.

This is a casual hangout event for those attending the Ginza Holiday Festival. This outdoor street fest offers live performances, shopping and food.

Schedule:
Don't need to get there 5:30 sharply! It's a more relaxed festival where people are mainly there for the performances, and socialize. The main stage is mainly performance, and then there are shops and food in the back corner of the temple. Just recognize that we will be mainly just watching the performances but people are free to peel off and shop around and grab food.

Friday August 7
(open 5 pm – 8 pm)

  • 6:00 MBT MINYO GROUP
  • 6:30 CHICAGO AIKIKAI
  • 7:00 MBT TAIKO GROUP

Throughout Ginza MBT’s chapel will be open for viewing. During intermissions on Saturday and Sunday brief presentations will be given by one of our ministers. Click for more information about our chapel tours.

The festival also occurs on Saturday August 8, and Sunday August 9.

About Ginza Festival:
Ginza Holiday is MBT’s annual fundraising event that has been bringing Japanese American food, culture and entertainment to Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood for over 65 years. We’ve had an uninterrupted run of our annual Ginza event from it’s humble beginnings in 1955 up to 2019.
